The following webinar provides a short introduction to the application process and how to use NCMEC University Online.



Available online courses

The following self-paced courses are available upon acceptance to NCMEC University Online:

Missing Children: Dynamics & Response 1 (MCDR1)

This course focuses on response strategies and will provide the student with a broad understanding of the nature of the problem of missing and abducted children, characteristics of child victims, response needed for missing children with special needs and resources/technical assistance available.

Audience
This course is designed for first responders including patrol, calltakers and dispatchers as well as investigators and first line supervisors. This includes both law enforcement and PSAPs.

This course is only available to sworn law enforcement.

Time requirement
This course will take approximately two hours to complete.

Missing Children: Dynamics & Response 2 (MCDR2)

This course focuses on response strategies and will provide the student with a broad understanding of the nature of the problem of missing and abducted children, the key laws enacted to address these issues, the characteristics of child victims, the response needed for missing children with special needs, working with the media, policy development and the resources/technical assistance available.

Audience
This course is designed for command personnel and midlevel managers up through senior leadership. This includes both law enforcement and PSAPs.

This course is only available to sworn law enforcement.

Time requirement
This course will take approximately three hours to complete.

Missing Children Clearinghouse Training (MCCT)

This course was developed to familiarize participants with a current proposal for NCMEC's call center assistance program, resources available to assist unaccompanied minors during a disaster, and the role of the United States Marshals Service in identifying and locating sex offenders displaced during a disaster.

Audience
This course is designed for Missing Child Clearinghouse managers and staff.

This course is only available to sworn law enforcement.

Time requirement
This course will take approximately one hour and thirty minutes to complete.

Introduction to Child Sex Trafficking Awareness and Response (ICSTAR)

This course focuses on the unique dynamics involved in working with a minor victim of sex trafficking including risk factors making individuals vulnerable to sex trafficking, the recruitment and seasoning process, various rules and beliefs of the sex trafficking culture, adolescent development, victim differences, trauma bonding, dissociative disorders and the role and purpose of a multi-disciplinary team.

Audience
This course is designed for child serving professionals, including forensic interview specialists, law enforcement officers, victim advocates, prosecutors, health care providers, child protective service workers, child protection attorneys and juvenile justice personnel.

Time requirement
This course will take approximately one hour and thirty minutes to complete.
