The new state-supported Internet Keep Safe Coalition will teach basic rules of Internet safety to children and parents, both online and in school. Studies show one in five youth using the Internet has received an online sexual solicitation and 29 percent of children using the Internet freely give out their home address if asked. The Coalition’s goal is to reduce these statistics by ensuring children understand and practice safe online behavior.

Governors and first spouses formed the coalition in partnership with a growing list of crime prevention organizations, law enforcement agencies, foundations and businesses. The Coalition is managed by The Keeper of the Flame Foundation a non-profit organization founded by Jacalyn S. Leavitt, Utah’s former First Lady from 1993-2003.
