There may be many reasons why children become missing from out-of-home care providers such as running away; abduction by a noncustodial parent, an acquaintance, or an unknown person; or inattentiveness of the custodial agency. But no matter the circumstance there has been a heightened awareness of the risk of harm faced by these children.
